Mini-Biographies I completed
30 years of active service in the summer of 1982. Retired in the grade of Brigadier
General; my last assignment was as the Commander of the Air Force Air Weather
Service. In the period 1956-1959, I was a member of the 42nd Tac Recon Sqdn at
Spangdahlem, Germany, assigned as an "Aerial Reconnaissance Weather Officer".
I started flying in the B-26, moved to the T-33, and finally to the WB-66. ( I
think that started in 1957). I rotated back to the CONUS in Mar 59 with some 200
hours in the B66 (don't know the exact number---and being non-rated, went into
a series of non-flying jobs upon leaving the 42nd). I had the good fortune of
being a Squadron Commander in Southeast Asia---the 10th Weather Squadron at Udorn,
(70-71) which was made up of all the Detachments at RTAFB's. A Pentagon tour in
OSD followed Thailand; followed by a Wing Commander job at Offutt AFB 1975-1978
(3rd Weather Wing supporting SAC, ATC, and NORAD). My last 4 years were at Scott
AFB, where I had the privilege of commanding the Air Weather Service
I was stationed at Tahkli RTAFB from July 1967 until July 1968 with the 355th TFW in the 6460th TEWS which became the 42nd TEWS while I was there. Have a great forever! Art, "Flying for Jesus!" Agape

Retired Command Pilot & Regular Officer Ardmore
AFB, 56 - 57, Radio/Radar Nav Aids Tech Joseph C. Zulaski I was assigned to Shaw for transition into the 66 in Feb. 66. Came out of SAC (B-52's). What a relief to get out of SAC. Had tried many times before but without success. I believe the training squadron was the 4017th or 4016TH, but I could be in error. The commander was Maj. Jack T. Ratliff. Couple of the other troops serving as IP's were Bill Puckett and Ed Stoekle. After training completion, my class, the first since the B-66 training program was shutdown years earlier, was assigned to the 41ST. TRS at Takhli. We reported in Jun. 66 and two of us volunteered for transfer to the 6460TH TRS due to a shortage of pilots in that squadron. Bill Hollingshead and myself started flying with the 6460TH ASAP. Flew the EB-66B. Initially most of our EW's were enlisted types. They eventually were replaced by commissioned types later in my tour. An irony of being assigned to the 6460TH was that the missions they flew were all north of the DMZ. My tour of duty ran from Jun 66 thru Feb. 4, 1967 as all our missions were "counters". I was assigned various additional duties as we all were and ended in crew/mission scheduling. Kenneth G. Gould, Jr. MD, PhD
I was assigned to Tahkli RTAB in July 1966 as Director of Professional Services at the 355th TAC Dispensary and became Commander in March 1967. For flying, I was assigned to the 6460th TEWS (B Model Squadron) and learned to operate the EWO position where I flew 24 missions (2 Air Medals) and got challenged to accept a flight by an EWO one morning who did not want to go and felt the pilot was drunk. I said he wasn't, we went, we did not get to turn on our jammers, we go shot at by SAMs, and somehow all got DFC's but the EWO who refused to go. I am proud to be a member of the Red River Valley Fighter Pilot's Asso. (River Rats). After SEA, I got a PhD and did high altitude research in support of the Soyuz-Appollo hookup and other USAF problems in chambers at Brooks AFB where I was on the Compression Therapy Team for 7 years. I finished up at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center as Director of Education. After the USAF, I was 2 years on the Faculty of the Un. of TX Med School San Antonio, 3 years with Allied Chemical, 4 years as Director of Health for International Paper, one year with Owens-Corning Fibreglas, and 9+ years as Medical Director with Exxon Co. USA as head of medical services for all domestic oil & gas ops...including the health care of the 16,700 people we put on Prince William Sound in 1989 to clean up after the Valdez spill. I am now a consultant and give Ethics Lectures for the Texas Medical Association. I am still Adjunt Professor of Medicine, Pulmonary Division, Baylor College of Medicine and Adjunct Professor, Occupational Medicine Division, Un. of TX School of Public Health. I have been writing my "memoirs" and some of the best are of my USAF duty in SEA. Best regards to all who maintained and worked in the EB-66B. Ken
